Sobhita Dhulipala was born on May 31, 1992, in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, India, into a Telugu Brahmin family. Her father, Venugopal Rao, was a Merchant Navy engineer, and her mother, Santha Kamakshi,was a primary school teacher. She completed her schooling at Little Angels School and Visakha Valley School in Visakhapatnam.

Sobhita Dhulipala moved to Mumbai alone but she was asked to take her sister along with her. At the age of sixteen she had a dream to pursue her career in modeling and acting. She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from H.R. College of Commerce & Economics in Mumbai. Sobhita Dhulipala is also a trained Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi classical performer, besides she has also been learning Kathak.

In an interview with Son of Abish, Sobhita Dhulipala mentioned that her parents were supportive of her decision to pursue a career in modeling and acting. During the college time she wanted to give herself full opportunity to try hard and do the level best and analys where she reached. She was succeeding but it was not sufficient and satisfactory for her. It was almost the end to her timeline when she finally got a break into Anurag kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0. The role got enough appreciation and also made her nominated in the international award show at Cannes.

Dhulipala’s college friend encouraged her to audition for a pageant while interning at the Miss Office. Despite considering herself an “uncool geek,” Dhulipala joined to seek validation. Initially aiming to pass the first round as a challenge to her friends, she continued after succeeding. Winning Femina Miss India South 2013 secured her a spot in the top 23 for the 50th Femina Miss India, where she became first runner-up and earned titles like Miss Stylish Hair, Miss Adventurous, and Miss Fashion Icon. She participated in Miss Earth 2013 for India, receiving sub-titles such as Miss Photogenic and Miss Beautiful Face, but not making the top 20. She also appeared in Kingfisher Calendar 2014.
